遠隔画像診断は、急速に進歩する画像診断技術及び発生する多くの画像を診断する必要に迫られて、放射線科領域で発達してきた。画像診断は、幅広く臨床科の専門領域まで浸透し始めており、画像診断無くしては、正確な診断、治療ができない状況となっている。特に循環器領域の画像診断の課題、遠隔画像診断のニーズ、将来の可能性に関して概説する。
Teleradiology was born from the needs from radiology due to rapid progress of imaging techniques and high volume imaging data for reading/reporting. Recently, medical imaging has become an essential tool for diagnosis and guiding treatments in a variety of specialties. In this article, I will focus on cardiovascular imaging in terms of current limitations, unmet needs, and future potential.
