我が国の肝疾患の中心であったC型肝炎が消滅するのも時間の問題である現在、B型肝炎はウィルスが制御されるも、ウィルス性肝疾患の発癌は残る。また、肝疾患として増加しているNASH及びアルコール性肝疾患に対する対応が重要となる。高齢化社会では肝癌治療も超音波ガイドの治療が重要性を増すと思われる。
